Dua in Sujood Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) said:The closest a servant comes to his Rabb is in Sujood (when he is prostrating himself) so increase your supplications (in Sujood).How long is your Sujood?- Spend more time in Sujood making dua.- Ask the Lailatul Qadr dua in Sujood. Sahih Muslim # 482Erase your sins with Charity Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) said:Sadaqah (charity) extinguishes sins just as water extinguishes fire.In these last few blessed days let’s give generously in charity to erase our sins. Musnad Ahmad # 22069Did you forgive others? You pardon and forgive (those who hurt you). Don’t you wish that Allah should forgive you? God is most forgiving and merciful.As we seek Allah’s forgiveness let’s also forgive those who have wronged us. Quran Chapter 24 : Verse 22Angels pray for you Those (angels) who carry the Arsh (Throne) and those around it glorify the praises of their Rabb and have faith in Him. They seek forgiveness for the believers (praying): “Our Rabb! You encompass everything in mercy and knowledge. So forgive those who repent and follow Your path and save them from the punishment of the Hellfire."Remember as you seek forgiveness in these blessed nights the closest angels to Allah are also seeking forgiveness for you! Quran Chapter 40 : Verse 7Suhoor & Seeking Forgiveness They (the people of Taqwa) would pray for forgiveness in the hours before dawn (Suhoor time). During these blessed nights lets increase our Istighfar at Suhoor time. Quran Chapter 51 : Verse 185 Key Aspects of Istighfar They (Adam and Hawwa) said: “Our Rabb! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us we will certainly be losers.” (Quran 7:23)From this dua we learn that Adam and Hawwa: - Acknowledged their sins - Regretted them - Took responsibility (without blaming Iblis) - Hastened to repent - Did not despair of Allah’s mercy Let’s embrace these five aspects when seeking Allah’s forgiveness. Quran Chapter 7 : Verse 23Will Allah forgive me? And there are others who have acknowledged their sins. They have mixed good deeds with evil (deeds). It is right to hope that Allah will turn to them in mercy. Surely Allah is Most Forgiving Most Merciful.Most of us have both good and bad deeds and this verse gives us hope. Let’s increase our repentance in these blessed last ten nights! Quran Chapter 9 : Verse 102Allah loves to forgive In the Lailatul Qadr dua we say "You love to forgive (تحب العفو)."Allah says:"...They took the calf as an object of worship yet We forgave them..." (Quran 4:153)The Arabic word for forgiveness used in this verse "عَفَوْنَا" is the same word we use in the Lailatul Qadr dua.Allah loves to forgive so much so that He even forgave shirk. So lets ask the dua with sincerity and hope. Quran Chapter 4 : Verse 153Are you ready? Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) said:This month has come to you and in it there is a night that is better than a thousand months. Whoever is deprived of it is deprived of all goodness and no one is deprived of its goodness except one who is truly deprived.Laylatul Qadr – Don’t miss Allah’s mercy forgiveness and immense rewards. Fill your nights with Salah Quran and sincere repentance! Sahih Targheeb # 1000Eid Mubarak (َتقبل الله منا ومنكم) Taqabbalallahu minna wa minkum - May Allah accept from us and from youEven then We forgave you so that you might be grateful. (Quran 2:52) For a month we asked for Allah’s forgiveness hoping He has forgiven us. Now on this Eid day let’s renew our commitment to gratitude. Quran Chapter 2 : Verse 52Allah Grows Your Charity Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) said:Whoever gives charity equal to a date-fruit from halal earnings – and Allah only accepts what is pure – Allah takes it with His right hand and nurtures the reward for the one who gave charity just as one of you nurtures his baby horse until it becomes as big as a mountain.Imagine Allah receiving your charity and growing it into a mountain. How much more will you give? Bukhari # 1410
