He went down into a well drank water and came back up. Then he saw a dog panting because it was very thirsty. The man thought "This dog is as thirsty as I was." So he went back into the well filled his shoe with water and used it to give the dog a drink. God appreciated his kind act and forgave his sins.People asked the Prophet "Is there a reward for helping animals?" The Prophet replied: "Yes there is a reward for helping any living being." Bukhari # 2363No killing animal for fun The Final Prophet Muhammad (peace be on him) said: If someone kills a small bird or anything larger without a just reason (for fun) God Almighty will question him about it on the Judgement Day. People asked: What is a just reason? The Prophet replied: "(A just reason) is that you slaughter it for food but you should not cut off its head and throw it aside.” Musnad Ahmad # 6551
